The inpatient Float Pool consists of highly-skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) capable of delivering quality care to patients and families across various clinical settings. The Float RNs are adept at bolstering the staffing requirements of both William P. Clements and Zale Lipshy University Hospitals. They bring a wide-ranging understanding of inpatient workflows, along with extensive knowledge and diverse skill sets, enabling them to support all inpatient departments. This level of highly-skilled and specialized care is vital to UT Southwestern’s commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
As a float pool, our mission is to collaborate with inpatient units to develop supportive staffing solutions that address the needs of our University Hospitals and patients, ensuring continuous care in a secure environment.
