JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Laboratory Director to support and enhance the operations of our high-volume, acute care hospital laboratory that processes over 6 million billable tests annually and serves as a teaching and research institution. This leadership role requires a proven track record in project management, budget planning, and the ability to drive operational efficiency in a complex laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate will bring exceptional troubleshooting and communication skills, coupled with an in-depth understanding of clinical laboratory operations, outreach services, and laboratory information systems (LIS). The candidate must also demonstrate extensive knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to CAP, FDA, TJC, ASHI, and AABB.
Key responsibilities include overseeing large-scale projects, optimizing workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with stakeholders across clinical, research, and administrative areas. The Assistant Laboratory Director will play a critical role in strategic planning, quality improvement, and maintaining the highest standards of laboratory performance. This position reports to the Laboratory Administrative Director.
