The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by U.S. News and World Report, is seeking a full-time time experienced clinical psychologist to lead our neurobehavioral and rehabilitation counseling services division.
The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, chaired by Dr. Heakyung Kim, provides services at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Clements University Hospital, and their affiliated outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work with developing residents, fellows, and medical students in one of the largest PM&R training programs in the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a doctorate in clinical psychology from an accredited university and at least 5 years psychology practice experience, preferrably Rehabilitation Psychology. In addition, the selected candidate must obtain a Texas Psychology License, must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Rehabilitation Psychology and/or Neuropsychology. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Role Responsibilities and Duties: Clinically, the ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and addressing the psychological needs of individuals dealing with disabilities or chronic health conditions. They will help clients cope with the emotional and cognitive challenges that arise from their conditions and guide them in developing effective coping strategies. This role involves creating and implementing personalized rehabilitation plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and abilities. The psychologist will also work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and promote the client’s maximum independence. The candidate must demonstrate empathy, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support clients in achieving both emotional well-being and functional independence.
