The Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking an outstanding behavioral health fellow to be an integral part of our Family Medicine Residency Program. This fellowship begins in July 2025. Fellow will have the opportunity to gain supervision experience needed to earn AAMFT-Approved Supervisor Designation. Benefits include travel support for presenting at medical family therapy-related conferences.
Responsibilities: Clinical and education, including active participation in integrated behavioral health services, resident education, and supervision of marriage and family therapy interns, and research, including completing own research activities, collaborating with Family Medicine faculty and residents on departmental research projects, and grant writing.
The Department of Family and Community Medicine is recruiting a fellow with the following experience and credentials:
o Graduated from COAMFTE-accredited doctoral program and completed training in integrated behavioral health care
o Demonstrated clinical competence, including competency in working with culturally diverse populations
o Competency in providing therapeutic interventions to individuals, families, couples, and groups with behavioral health problems in a primary care setting.
o Record of scholarly activity and producing medical family therapy/family medicine research
o Willingness to engage in collaborative research partnerships
o Eligible for AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation
o License-eligible for MFT licensure in the State of Texas
