JOB SUMMARY The Sterile Processing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate management and tracking of all products and instruments in the department, including data support functions. They collaborate with SPD and clinical leadership to develop and maintain instrument tracking systems, including custom workflows to ensure adherence to instrument IFUs.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required

High School Diploma Or equivalent
- Experience
4 years or greater experience as a Sterile Processing Tech. and 2 years experience as a coordinator or supervisory position.
- Licenses and Certifications
Must hold or attain one (1) certification (Technical) upon hire and obtain one additional (Scope/Specialty/Leadership) certification within 12 months of hire. (CRCST) CRCST with Healthcare Processing Association (HSPA) or CBSPD equivalent Upon Hire and (CER) Certified Endoscope Reprocessor with Healthcare Processing Association (HSPA) or CBSPD equivalent within 1 Year, (CIS) CERTIFIED INSTRUMENT SPECIALST with Healthcare Processing Association (HSPA) or CBSPD equivalent within 1 Year, or (CHL) CERTIFIED HEALTHCARE LEADER with Healthcare Processing Association (HSPA) or CBSPD equivalent within 1 Year
JOB DUTIES
- Ensures accurate tracking system data management for all products and instruments maintained with a special emphasis on data support functions

- Works collaboratively with SPD and Clinical leadership to develop instrument/scope tray count sheets, enter instrumentation and trays into the tracking system, add pictures/comments, and maintain the down time count sheet system
- Works collaboratively to design and build custom SPM workflows to support adherence to instrument IFUs
- Supplies leadership with data as requested to monitor processes and adherence to standard operating procedures related to instrument and scope reprocessing
- Collaborates with Education Team to assist with orientation and training of sterile processing employees and operating room staff related to the instrument tracking system; may be required to work after-hours and/or weekends on a limited basis for project implementation or training needs
- Responsible for Vendor instrument management, including the following functions: Reception, inspection, and system entry, Instrument contents verification and documentation, and return to Vendor and removal from inventory
- Responsible for management of the department’s reusable instrument inventory and disposable items:
- a. Purchasing, shipping & receiving functions and tracking using an inventory tracking system
- b. Purchasing items needed to support department operations
- c. Maintenance of instrument par levels for commonly purchased items
- Implementation and management of individual instrument marking/tracking processes
- Maintains instrument repair needs, including coordinating with vendors, issuing requisitions and packaging devices for shipmen Responsible for management of the daily supplies needed for the CPD Operation
- Performs various information systems and data responsibilities for CPD:
- a. Managing and troubleshooting CPD IS hardware and software needs
- b. Managing new employee profiles and manages access for staff in the system
- c. Utilization of Teams, Smart Sheet, and SharePoint to maintain various departmental data files
- d. Capable of performing analytics of data and preparing documents for leader review
- Other duties as assigned
