The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and No. 2 hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report, is seeking a board-certified physician specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of physical and functional impairments in infants, children, and adolescents to join the Pediatric Rehab Medicine team. Role Responsibilities and Duties:
The role focuses on optimizing patient outcomes through a multidisciplinary approach that addresses neuromuscular conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and other developmental disorders. Additionally this role will collaborate closely with pediatricians, therapists, surgeons, and families to develop and implement comprehensive, individualized care plans that promote mobility, independence, and quality of life, both in inpatient rehabilitation settings and outpatient clinics. Teaching responsibilities will include medical students, PM&R residents and fellows in didactic lectures and group settings as well as participation in various multidisciplinary conferences. Research will vary depending on the candidate’s interest.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and dedicated Pediatric Physiatrist interested in both inpatient consultation and general practice, specializing in spasticity management, ITB pump management and botulinum toxin injections. This indiviual will also have a passion for program development and a drive to create and enhance services tailored to the needs of pediatric rehabilitation patients.
This role plays an integral part of one of the nation’s most prestigious Pediatric Rehab Medicine training programs where you will be afforded the opportunity to mentor and engage with residents, fellows, and medical students. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of the program while directly impacting both the educational development of future healthcare professionals and the clinical care provided to patients.
