The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is accepting applications for the position of Instructor, Research Track, Nontenured, in the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense. He or she will perform research within the framework of a highly collaborative Center for Genetics of Host Defense. We are seeking individuals with expertise in immunology, biochemistry, cell biology, and/or structural biology. Applicants with expertise in immunology, biochemistry, and mouse genetics are preferred. This position will require a high level of independence, experience gene engineering, immunophenotyping, and the development of new mouse models that determine which cells in the mammalian organism are affected by a mutation. Investigators will be expected to secure independent funding to support their research, and at the same time, to devote themselves to the goals of the Center as a whole. The candidate must also be able to write proficiently and present his work to members of the Center.
Successful applicants must have a Ph.D. and at least two years of research and animal experience in a postdoctoral researcher position.
