JOB SUMMARY
The Acute Therapy Supervisor oversees, organizes, and coordinates clinical services within the acute therapy department to ensure the delivery of exceptional evidence-based occupational and physical therapy interventions and treatments. Responsibilities include providing supervision to occupational and physical therapy staff, as well as therapy technicians, to ensure adherence to appropriate procedures and policies while delivering clinical services and maintaining high standards of quality and PACT standards. The Acute Therapy Supervisor assists with chart audits, conducts team interviews, and participates in environment of care and safety rounds to uphold regulatory compliance. Assists in patient-related service recovery processes, ensuring prompt resolution of any service-related issues. The Acute Therapy Supervisor also provides scheduling assistance to optimize departmental efficiency. The supervisor actively contributes to the development, implementation, and oversight of evidence-based therapeutic patient care services, maintaining thorough knowledge of the supervised functional area while ensuring adherence to facility and departmental and institutional policies and procedures.

Clinical Experience:
• 5-10 years in acute care or hospital-based therapy, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership, supervisory, or charge role.
Clinical Skill Sets:
• Proven competency in acute care therapy, including ICU, step-down, and complex medical/surgical units.
• Experience with early mobility programs, ventilator-dependent patients, and complex discharge planning.
• Strong background in functional assessments(AM-PAC, SPPB, etc), goal-setting, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
• Familiarity with clinical pathways and protocols (e.g., ERAS, stroke, orthopedic, or cardiac programs).
• Ability to mentor staff in clinical reasoning, documentation standards, and outcome measures.
Leadership & Operational Skills:
• Demonstrated strength in staff supervision, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ability to mentor and develop early-career clinicians.
• Comfort with EMR systems (Epic preferred) and clinical documentation standards.
• Strong collaboration with nursing and physician leadership to support throughput and patient flow.
• Commitment to compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
