As part of the UT Southwestern Medical Center clinical team in Psychiatry, you will join in an evolving effort to push ahead of the traditional boundaries of medicine, deliver cures and transform patient care. Profile

We are seeking an Addiction Specialty physician committed to providing healthcare services to patients in need of addiction and/or substance use related care. This position will serve at an affiliated county hospital – Parkland Health.

The selected candidate must have an M.D./D.O., be board certified or board eligible in their primary specialty (e.g. General Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine) and must have completed specialty training in Addiction (Addiction Psychiatry and/or Addiction Medicine) and/or be board certified or board eligible in an Addiction specialty.

While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to an academic career. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Leadership experience is preferred. 

Skills or Special Abilities:

• Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the appropriate specialty practice assessment techniques and treatment processes;
• Must be able to determine objectives, set priorities, and establish and meet target dates;
• Must be able to work effectively with other health care professionals and serve as a subject matter expert resource to health care providers at Parkland Health and UTSW;
• Must be able to demonstrate effective leadership/clinic management skill;
• Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior;
