A postdoctoral position is available in the Xin Li Laboratory at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) under the mentorship of Dr. Xin Li, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Immunology. The Li Lab (est. 2023) investigates how gut commensal fungi shape local and systemic immune responses. Ongoing projects focus on eukaryotic RNA sensing, toxin-antitoxin systems, and their roles in regulating mammalian host immunity and disease. The Xin Li Lab is supported by stable funding from UT Southwestern and Children’s Health, the Cellular Immunotherapeutics Program (CITP), an NIH K99/R00 Independence Award, the NIH/NIAID DP2 New Innovator Award (2025-2030), and the Kenneth Rainin Foundation Innovator Award.
Applicants must have a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D., or be close to graduating. Backgrounds in RNA biology, immunology, microbial genetics, biochemistry, or computational biology are encouraged. A first-author peer-reviewed publication is recommended. We seek candidates who are highly curious, motivated, and collaborative.
The Li Lab actively engages with UTSW’s vibrant research community, including the Program in Microbes, Immunity and Disease (PMID), the RNA Biology and Therapeutics Program, and systems biology groups, which host regular research-inprogress and chalk-talk sessions that enrich training. The lab is committed to supporting fellowships, conference travel, and career development. To apply, please send a CV, a brief statement of research interests, and contact information for three references to Xin Li (Xin.Li@UTSouthwestern.edu).
