JOB SUMMARY
The Research Program Manager is responsible for management, coordination and promotion of clinical and basic research in the Center for Cancer Immunology and Cell Therapy. This individual works closely with the Director of the Center for Cancer Immunology and Cell Therapy to manage research initiatives of the Center by coordinating effectively with other parts of the institution and establishing effective working relationships with organizational peers. Promotes collaboration among investigators and across disciplines, departments and institutions; organizes meetings, seminars and conferences. Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers

Experience
Prior experience related to research administration is strongly preferred.
Previous experience working in a Medical Center
Ability to draft scientific documents

Previous experience with grant preparations and formatting, along with submitting progress reports
JOB DUTIES
· Assists the Center Director and Center Assistant Director of Operations with strategic development of new research programs and initiatives.
· Provides oversight of basic and clinical research programs.
· Assists in long-range planning for research program growth and changes in research priorities.
· Promotes collaboration among investigators and across disciplines, departments and institutions.
· Supports new research funding opportunities by coordinating and assisting in the preparation of grant proposals and contractual agreements and associated budgets; ensures the timely submission of proposals or agreements which meet institutional mandate; provides oversight of post award reporting requirements.
· Assists in developing clinical trials and ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, study protocols, and ethical standards throughout the trial process.
· Assists the Center Assistant Director of Operations with onboarding and orientation of all new research faculty and staff.
· Assists the Center Assistant Director of Operations with lab space planning and inventory control of the Center for Cancer Immunology and Cell Therapy
· Organizes meetings, seminars and conferences.
· Oversees information services group in developing web-based research collaboration tools and databases.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
