Responsibilities
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking outstanding pediatricians and neonatologists for the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at UT Southwestern.
The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine currently consists of 38 neonatologists and 12 pediatric faculty and is internationally recognized with wide areas of interest in both basic and clinical research. We are a part of the NICHD Neonatal Network and also work closely with the Center for Pulmonary & Vascular Biology.
Our system boasts 18,000 births per year and 250 NICU beds. The Thrive Program assures primary care and follow-up of very-low-birth-weight infants and other high-risk neonates and participates in the follow-up of neonates associated with studies within the NICHD Neonatal Network. The NICU at Children’s Health serves as a Level IV referral center for neonates in North Texas and surrounding states. Active Fetal and TeleNICU Programs have been established. Pediatric faculty in the Division provides comprehensive newborn care and actively participate in research and teaching. The division offers a variety of clinical, academic, quality improvement and administrative opportunities for candidates at all stages of their careers.
Job duties:
This physician candidate will provide medical care to newborns, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing procedures, and managing care for premature or critically ill infants. Their duties extend to assisting in high-risk deliveries, coordinating with other medical professionals, providing nutritional support, and communicating with and supporting families. In addition, they will supervise students and APP’s.
Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas and be board eligible or certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
