A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Tara Barron, PhD, in the Pathology Department at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study reciprocal interactions between cancer and the nervous system. Our laboratory has several exciting projects related to using cellular and synaptic neurophysiology techniques to understand how brain tumors, particularly IDH-mutant gliomas, hijack mechanisms of neural activity and disrupt neural circuit function in the young adult brain.
Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Experience in optogenetics, imaging, molecular biology techniques, and/or in vivo rodent models leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals is recommended.
