JOB SUMMARY
Works with relatively low supervision to provide data acquisition, management and report design/generation to users of data.
This senior-level role will support the Program Manager and a Department Data Analyst in developing, maintaining, and enhancing clinical and productivity reporting for the Department of Pediatrics. The position will leverage tools including Excel, Access, SQL, Python, and Power BI. Given the breadth of reporting needs, some reports will require manual data input, while others will be fully automated or a hybrid of both.
The role requires strong programming skills, including proficiency in VBA and Python, as well as the ability to write complex SQL queries. Extensive use of Excel is expected, along with workflows that incorporate the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and SharePoint.
A major initiative currently underway is the conversion of legacy Excel, Access, and SAS-based processes into Power BI solutions. This role will work collaboratively across the department, internal teams, and external partners to ensure data is appropriately structured, extracted, and automated as needed. Automation of data pipelines and reporting (using VBA, SQL, Python, Power BI, and Power Platform tools) will be a key priority.
Being a Power User in Excel and/or having certifications for PowerBi (PL-300 or PL-900) is preferred.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and thrive in a collaborative environment. This position is fully on-site during the training period and a possibility to be a hybrid schedule thereafter. The ideal candidate resides in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and is willing to commute to the hospital campus near downtown Dallas.
