JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern Medical Center is the leading Academic Medical Center in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, recognized nationally for excellence in patient care, research, and education. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished Controller to join a dynamic, mission-driven organization at the forefront of academic medicine and to play a pivotal role in supporting its continued growth and impact.
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller serves as a strategic financial partner with enterprise-wide oversight of operations within the Accounting & Fiscal Services division. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining a strong internal controls environment, and driving regulatory compliance across the institution. The Controller will lead efforts to modernize and streamline financial processes, leveraging technology and best practices to build the scalability and operational efficiency required to support UTSW’s expanding clinical, research, and academic enterprise.
Key areas of responsibility include financial reporting, audit management, technical accounting, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration with operational and administrative leaders throughout the institution. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the unique financial and regulatory landscape of academic medicine and possesses the leadership presence to influence and inspire a high-performing team.
