JOB SUMMARY
UTSW is seeking a Network Engineer II, Temporary to join our dynamic IT team. This key role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our network infrastructure in a complex academic medical environment. As the Network Engineer II, you will be instrumental in maintaining critical networking services that support our clinical, research, and educational missions, ensuring that our systems operate efficiently, securely, and reliably. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Aruba wireless infrastructure, Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, network automation, and optical networking. However, hands on Aruba or Cisco enterprise networking experience is required for this role. You will work closely with the Network Manager and other IT staff to design and manage a secure, high-performing network that meets the unique needs of clinicians, researchers, educators, and administrative staff. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with on call rotations.
This position does not offer visa sponsorship and selected candidate must reside in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex or be willing to relocate. This position is fully on site for the first few months, transitioning to a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 from home) at department’s discretion. This is a 6-month to 1-year temporary position with an opportunity to move to a permanent role depending on performance.
