The postdoctoral position is open to highly motivated candidates with a strong interest in human genetics and immunology. Applicants should be eager to learn from the study of patients and families with autoimmune and inflammatory phenotypes, including celiac disease, inflammatory bowel diseases, inborn errors of immunity, and acute liver failure.
Our laboratory integrates human genetic discovery with functional characterization and mechanistic investigation. We combine genomic analysis, candidate gene functional studies, and cellular and immunological approaches to understand disease pathogenesis.
1. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, capable of generating testable hypotheses, and able to independently design and execute experiments.
2. Strong technical expertise in molecular biology, immunology, and cell biology is required.
3. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate the scientific literature, interpret experimental results rigorously, and troubleshoot technical challenges effectively.
4. Basic bioinformatics skills are preferred, and experience with or willingness to learn next-generation sequencing data analysis is expected.
5. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and have a strong track record demonstrating the ability to independently execute research projects.
6. The candidate should demonstrate adaptability and a strong willingness to acquire new technical expertise, including spectral flow cytometry, advanced imaging approaches, scRNA-Seq and the manipulation of both murine models and primary human samples.
