UT Southwestern provides postdoctoral scholars with the skills, opportunities, and encouragement to become true problem-solvers in the biological, physical, computational, and behavioral sciences. Along with instruction in scientific knowledge, you will receive training for a successful, independent career as a scientific professional, with opportunities for honing skills in research, communication, leadership, and management.
The Siqi Liu Lab (www.siqiliulab.org) at UT Southwestern Medical Center is recruiting a postdoctoral candidate. Our laboratory investigates the mechanisms of innate immune signaling that govern mammalian injury sensing and tissue repair. We employ an integrated approach combining biochemistry, cell biology, and mouse genetics. Ongoing projects utilize in vitro biochemical reconstitution, cell-based and ex vivo assays to dissect signaling mechanisms, as well as mouse genetic models to define the physiological functions of these pathways in vivo. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to lead 1-2 independent research projects focused on injury repair mechanisms using biochemical, molecular, cellular, and genetic approaches. Competitive candidates should have a strong background and demonstrated expertise in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, and/or genetics, with the ability to rigorously drive the projects independently in a collaborative environment.
The laboratory currently leads multiple projects supported by CPRIT and the Endowed Scholar Fund that focus on signal transduction mechanisms in skin injury repair. These projects are highly interdisciplinary and require substantial technical expertise and long-term commitment to establish and execute complex experimental systems. An experienced Postdoctoral Researcher is essential to lead these efforts, integrate diverse methodologies, and ensure rigorous experimental execution. A Postdoctoral Researcher with strong expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology will allow the laboratory to advance these projects efficiently, generate high-quality data, and support timely publication and future R01-level grant submissions.
