The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an outstanding full-time Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologist. The candidate will carry out regular attending duties within the Division of Cardiology and the section of Advanced Heart Failure/VAD/Transplant, as well as participate in teaching and training of fellows, house staff, and medical students. Expertise and interest in neuromuscular cardiomyopathy would be preferable. Candidate will be superior in all aspects of Cardiology and Advanced heart failure/Transplant cardiology.
Cardiology Division, Facilities & Equipment:
· Nationally recognized Cardiology Division with more than 100 faculty members that fosters a collegial and collaborative environment with a focus on faculty career development. You will be joining a section of advanced heart failure that currently includes 11 faculty members.
· Sites of Practice Include:
o William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital is a state-of-the art facility that is visually appealing, incorporates advanced technology, and was designed for patient comfort and well-being and to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration, Clements University Hospital is a centerpiece for carrying out UT Southwestern’s three-part mission – to heal, innovate, and educate.
o Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas County’s exemplary urban public hospital which provides outstanding diagnosis and treatment for virtually every type of condition or disease.
o Heart and Lung Clinic, where ambulatory care is delivered to patients with advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or those with a LVAD or heart transplant, in a multidisciplinary manner with our allied health care team.
ACGME-accredited Cardiology fellowship programs including Cardiovascular Disease, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant, Interventional Cardiology, as well as Texas Medical Board-accredited fellowship programs in Structural Interventional Cardiology, Advanced Echocardiography, Cardio-Oncology, and Cardiology Advanced Research and Clinical Training, Hypertension.
· A close collaboration exists with the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery comprised of skilled cardiac surgeons who serve as a regional referral source for complex, quaternary care.
Applicants should meet these qualifications:
· Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent
· Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology fellowship programs
· Board Certified in Cardiology and subspecialty boarded in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.
· An unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas
