The Radiology Department of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a board certified/eligible, fellowship-trained neuroradiologist, interested in pursuing an academic career. Candidate must have completed a minimum of 1 year of training in an ACGME-accredited neuroradiology fellowship, and be ABR-certified/eligible. (Two years of Neuroradiology Fellowship training is preferred.) Eligibility for Texas medical licensure and its acquisition prior to the start of employment is required. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

Divisional duties include interpreting the full range of diagnostic imaging studies, performing image-guided spine procedures and providing consultation to referring physicians. Specific clinical and research interest can be in any area within the scope of neuroradiology. Candidate will be expected to be superior in all aspects of diagnostic neuroradiology and capable of teaching CT, angiography, myelography, and MRI to neuroradiology fellows, Radiology residents, and medical students through didactic lectures and participation in various multidisciplinary conferences.

Faculty members have dedicated academic time with many opportunities to develop research interests in collaboration with our strong basic science group, as well as other clinical and basic science departments throughout the campus. Administrative, biostatistical and logistical support are provided. Strong collaborations with imaging vendors enrich discovery opportunities. Current projects focus on traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, degenerative brain disorders, machine learning and informatics. A research cyclotron is in close proximity to hybrid PET scanners facilitating clinical and preclinical assessments of neurological disorders.

The Neuroradiology division currently includes 19 faculty and sponsors an ACGME-accredited fellowship program in neuroradiology and a Texas Medical Board-accredited fellowship program in endovascular surgical neuroradiology/neuroendovascular surgery. Members are responsible for clinical services at Parkland Hospital, and at Clements and Zale Lipshy University Hospitals and their affiliated clinics. Central reading rooms are located at two sites. Freestanding reading stations are located throughout the hospital system.
