Post-doctoral Position in Virus-Host Interactions
A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Don Gammon, in the Department of Microbiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study virus-host interactions. The Gammon Laboratory develops and utilizes invertebrate and vertebrate host model systems to study virus-host interplay. The ultimate goal of the lab is to uncover novel, evolutionarily-conserved host antiviral defense mechanisms and viral immune evasion strategies. The lab uses a combination of cell biological, molecular, biochemical, and genomic approaches to mechanistically interrogate virus-host interactions.
Required qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and not have held an earlier post-doctoral position for more than two years. At least two years of experience with cell culture as a graduate student and/or early stage post-doctoral fellow is required.
