The Charles and Jane Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research announces an opening for a Professor & Director. The Center exists to advance medical knowledge of the causes and treatments of diseases of mineral metabolism through discovery, to instruct and educate health care personnel and scientists in research and clinical practice, and to provide excellence in clinical care of patients with such diseases.
The Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research was established at UT Southwestern in 1994, and is comprised of faculty with diverse expertise (Nephrology, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Physiology, Biomedical Engineering and Radiology). The Center encompasses established programs in basic and translational science, biotechnology, clinical research, patient care, and fee for service laboratory testing, with dedicated space allocated to each initiative. The operational goals of the Center are three-fold: 1) to identify and implement new knowledge of mineral metabolism and its disorders, 2) to educate staff, students, physicians, and scientists to conduct research in and manage patients with diseases of mineral metabolism, and 3) to provide excellence in care for people with diseases of mineral metabolism. The Center Director will be tasked with acceleration of the current initiatives as well as expanding the scope of our current service lines.
