EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Bachelor’s Degree of Science
- Experience
3 years of experience along with Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or
2 years of experience in epidemiology, research or infectious disease along with Master’s Degree or
No experience required with active RN license in the State of Texas or eligible for reciprocity
- Licenses and Certifications
(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Certification through a course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Preferred
- Licenses and Certifications
(CIC) Cert in Infection Cntrl strongly preferred
JOB DUTIES
- Infection control surveillance for the University Hospitals.
- Ensure compliance with CDC guidelines through active education of staff as well as on-site monitoring.
- Review medical records & consult with staff & physicians regarding potential infection control concerns.
- Data entry and review.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
