JOB SUMMARY
Serves as the administrator for a large clinical or basic science division of a department, and reports to the top manager for department administration. Manages daily operations of the division by coordinating effectively with Department Administration, as well as other parts of the institution. Implements departmental policies and procedures while directly administering daily activities to include personnel administration, recruitment, academic/educational appointments and grant and/or financial management. Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers. May also include operational oversight of both clinical and bench research and/or patient care clinics and clinical laboratories.
This position plays a critical role in supporting the Pulmonary Division within the Department of Internal Medicine. In partnership with the Division Chief, the Division Administrator provides strategic and operational leadership across the division’s tripartite mission of clinical care, education, and research.
Key responsibilities include overseeing operational performance, leading process improvement initiatives, supporting financial and human resource management, and fostering collaboration with ambulatory and institutional partners. The Division Administrator serves as a key liaison to ensure alignment of divisional priorities, drive operational excellence, and support the continued growth and success of the Pulmonary Division.
