Summary
The Equal Opportunity (EO) Specialist will conduct investigations of complaints of discrimination and harassment pursuant to federal, state, and local EEO laws and UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Equal Opportunity Policies. This position will have significant responsibility for the coordination of requests for disability related accommodations for faculty and staff, for maintenance of compliance reporting, as well as tracking and facilitation of training programs.
Key Relationships: Serves as a liaison and internal consultant to employees and management on accommodation and equal opportunity requests. Additionally, this position supports the function with external agencies on complaint handling matters. Collaborate, when necessary, with the Employee Relations and Compliance departments regarding overlapping investigative issues.
This position offers the opportunity to work a hybrid work from home (WFH) schedule after all training has been completed. Once completed, it is required to report to the office for additional training, meetings, client interviews, etc., as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Required
Education
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college.
Experience
2 years of HR/legal/compliance experience, or
Any equivalent combination of education, and training and experience.
Preferred
Education
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
Licenses and Certifications
(SHRM-CP) SHRM Certified Professional or equivalent.

Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and research methodology

Experience with development and implementation of compliance training programs
HR technologies and reporting tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and PeopleSoft or comparable systems
Solid understanding of data analysis techniques, database structures, HRIS and statistical data management including current
Sound knowledge of human resources management with “generalist” human resources experience
