JOB SUMMARY
The CVICU provides specialized care for critically ill patients recovering from complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements, aortic dissections, LVAD implantation, heart and lung transplantation, and advanced esophageal procedures. Registered Nurses in this high-acuity environment utilize critical thinking and advanced assessment skills to manage patients requiring sophisticated hemodynamic monitoring and life-support technologies. The CVICU offers the opportunity to care for patients supported by Swan-Ganz (PA) catheters, temporary pacing devices, chest tubes, CRRT, LVADs, IABP, Impella, CentriMag, and ECMO, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes and advancing clinical excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program; BSN is preferred
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Texas Board of Nursing or with a multistate license from Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
BLS accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
ACLS accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
