· About the Inpatient Float Pool Team
The Inpatient Float Pool at UT Southwestern is a high-impact clinical team supporting safe, flexible staffing across Clements University Hospital and Zale Lipshy Pavilion. Float Pool RNs and PCTs provide care across more than 30 inpatient units spanning critical care, medical-surgical, oncology, telemetry, progressive care, rehabilitation, and specialty services—offering an unmatched opportunity to work across diverse patient populations and clinical environments.
As a strategic clinical resource within hospital-wide nursing operations, the Float Pool plays a vital role in meeting the dynamic needs of both hospitals. In partnership with Central Staffing and nursing leadership, the team brings skilled clinical support where it is needed most, helping units respond to changing patient acuity, census, and staffing needs while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care.
· Float Pool Level 5 RN
As a Float Pool Level 5 RN, you will provide high-quality nursing care across critical care, high-acuity, and specialty environments throughout the organization. This role is designed for experienced ICU-trained RNs who value clinical variety, bring strong clinical judgment and adaptability, and thrive in complex, rapidly changing patient care environments. Float Pool Level 5 RNs serve as a flexible critical care resource while maintaining and expanding their clinical expertise across the organization.
