POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER — Dr. Ishii’s laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join an NIH-funded research team at UT Southwestern studying how the brain regulates metabolism in Alzheimer’s disease.  Working alongside Drs. Ishii, Fujikawa, and Williams the successful candidate will investigate the role of hypothalamic dysfunction in metabolic and behavioral changes associated with neurodegenerative disease using innovative neuroscience approaches and animal models.

Required Qualifications:  

• Ph.  D, MD/Ph. D., or MD. with substantial research experience; candidates nearing completion of their doctoral degree are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with animal research, particularly rodent models.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English sufficient for success in a research environment and compliance with applicable institutions and visa requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Research experience in neuroscience, metabolism, endocrinology, neurodegeneration, or a related biomedical field.
• Experience with behavioral, metabolic, molecular, cell or neurophysiological techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative research team.
