A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of faculty name Yong Du, PhD, in the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center to conduct advanced research in nuclear medicine imaging, radiopharmaceutical therapy, and dosimetry.
1. Monte Carlo Simulation: Execute advanced Monte Carlo simulations to model radiation transport and image generation, optimize internal radiation dosimetry, and refine targeted radionuclide therapy protocols.
2. Algorithm Optimization: Develop, evaluate, and optimize cutting-edge image reconstruction methods for PET and SPECT imaging systems to enhance quantitative accuracy.
3. Deep Learning & Image Analysis: Design and implement deep-learning-based frameworks for automated image segmentation, processing, and predictive biomarker extraction.
4. Collaborative Research: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams of physicists, engineers, oncologists, and clinicians to translate computational tools into active research and clinical workflows.
5. Dissemination: Present research findings at major scientific conferences and lead the preparation of high-impact peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering and possess demonstrated research experience in nuclear medicine, specifically including PET and SPECT hardware and software development, reconstruction algorithms, and deep-learning-based methodologies.
