Dallas, Texas (USA). The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pathology is seeking an accomplished Director of Molecular Diagnostics. The incumbent will be responsible for Next Generation Sequencing, cytogenetics, microarray, & molecular diagnostics. The applicant must have an M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or D.O., be board certified in AP/CP, AP or CP and subspecialty certification in Molecular Pathology, and have or be eligible for a full Texas medical license or have a Ph.D. and subspecialty training and board certification in Molecular Genetics Pathology. The candidate is expected to have ongoing and substantial experience in the technology, regulatory requirements, and creation of clinical reporting, data storage, bioinformatics, and administration of a CLIA laboratory. Must also have experience in the direction of technologists and junior faculty and possess excellent communication skills. Knowledge of outreach a plus. In addition to patient care activities, the selected candidate will be expected to participate in medical student and house staff teaching and develop or continue his/her research program. Outstanding opportunities for basic, translational or clinical research are available with members of basic science and clinical departments throughout UT Southwestern. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Competitive salary and start-up will be provided.
