The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Touchstone Diabetes Center, is seeking an Assistant Professor on the Tenure-Accruing Track. The position requires an M.D./Ph.D. or Ph.D. in basic science and 2-5 years postdoctoral research experience in an endocrinology related field.
We are looking for a candidate specializing in metabolic disease with an in-depth insight into its impact on obesity and diabetes. As part of this specialty occupation, the individual will be responsible for conducting experiments with complex whole body physiology experiments. The expectation of this work will provide results that will significantly advance the understanding of the physiological responses to lipid and glucose metabolism as well as hormones, inflammation, and cancer. Additional duties will include the teaching and training of graduate students, house staff and fellows.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
