The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking outstanding physicians to join faculty positions in the newly formed Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health System of Texas, Dallas.
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) has a robust clinical practice and has the vision to be a premier academic practice in the country with a national reputation for state-of-the-art clinical and academic programs. Currently, 29 faculty staff patients at two campuses. Hospitalists play a vital role in teaching students and residents and are recognized as astute clinician and educators. PHM faculty hold many leadership positions such as Clerkship Directors, Associate Residency Program Director, President of Medical/Dental Staff and are members of most hospital and Department Committees.
Responsibilities for the faculty include providing clinical services at Children’s Health Dallas (quaternary care) and Plano campus. PHM faculty provide both direct patient care and care with residents and students on teaching services. Direct care is provided 24/7 at both campuses. Care with trainees is provided on the teaching service with categorical pediatric residency training program and students from UT Southwestern Medical School. The newly formed Division of PHM is under its organization and growth phase and has recently started a robust faculty development program. 9 faculty are PHM Board Certified. Faculty will have ample opportunities for career advancement in their areas of interest.
Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas and must be board certified in Pediatrics. PHM Fellowship trained and/or PHM Board eligible candidates are preferred. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Instructor or Assistant/Associate Professor position will be considered.
