A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Madhukar Patel, in the Department of Surgery and Division of Surgical Transplantation at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The Postdoctoral Researcher would be joining a clinical and translational laboratory that consists of fellows, residents, and medical students supervised by Dr. Madhukar Patel. Currently, the Advancing Surgical Transplantation Research Outcomes (ASTRO) group focuses on developing strategies to increase the number and improve the quality of organs available for transplant, as well as to develop pathways to optimize clinical outcomes after liver transplantation.
Anticipated Start: June 2026 with flexibility upon candidate request
Anticipated Duration: 2 years

Candidates must hold a M.D. or equivalent.
Expertise in database management (local, national, multicenter), statistical analyses (SPSS, R, Python etc.), and machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques are preferred. Prior presentation and/or peer-reviewed journal publication experience is highly recommended.
