A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Tao Yue, in the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study cancer immunology and generate a cutting-edge translational immunology platform for biomarker discovery and immunotherapy development.
Established in 2022, the Yue lab aims to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of immunotherapy resistance and develop next-generation cancer immunotherapies. Current projects in the lab include: (1) dissecting the acidic tumor microenvironment to develop novel acid-resistant immunocytokines for cancer immunotherapy; (2) utilizing a live tumor bank to identify predictive biomarkers of resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors and to design immunotherapy strategies for unresponsive patients; and (3) deploying tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and humanized tumorgraft mouse models with autologous immune systems to test novel immunotherapy approaches for localized drug delivery, improved efficacy, and reduced systemic toxicity. The research in our lab is supported by funding from NIH, the NCI Kidney cancer SPORE program, Rally Foundation, and UT Southwestern.
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D., D.V.M or equivalent), or be scheduled to complete one soon, and be highly motivated. Experience in immunology, cancer biology, molecular biology, protein engineering, or mouse models of renal cell carcinoma and osteosarcoma leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals is recommended. Information on our postdoctoral training program, benefits, and a virtual tour can be found at http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/postdocs.
