POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER – We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to develop and evalutate large language model (LLM) and agentic AI systems for extracting, structuring, and reasoning over unstructured electontic health record (EHR) data, including clinical notes, imaging reports, and free-text documentation. The fellow will build pipelines that transform narrative clinical data into research-ready cohorts and decision-support tools, and will lead rigorous evalutations of these systems against clincal reference standards. Key skills include machine learning, natural language processing, prompt engineering and orchestration of agentic workflows, and technology evaluation methodology: an interest in pragmatic controlled trails off AI-enabled interventions is strongly desired. Comfort with Python and R, modern LLM tooling, and large healthcare data environments is expected.
The position is designed to support graduated independence: the fellow will begin by contributing to active LLM/agentic AI projects in chronic disease prevention and brain health, then progressively define and lead their own studies – moving from retrospective validation work toward prospective, pragmatic trails of AI tools embedded in real clinical workflows. Our explicit goal is for the fellow to leave the fellowship with first-author publications, independent grant submissions, and a distinct research program at the intersection of applied AI, clinical evidence generation, and health system implementation.
