A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Daniela Nicastro, Ph.D., in the Department of Cell Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The successful candidate will join an active and collaborative research environment to investigate the three-dimensional ultrastructure and cellular functions of macromolecular complexes within cells.
The Nicastro Lab uses advanced imaging approaches to study the organization, architecture, and function of organelles and cytoskeletal assemblies, with a particular focus on molecular motors and their roles in cellular dynamics. Ongoing projects explore how these structures are built, how they function in three dimensions, and how their organization supports essential cellular processes.
The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to ongoing research projects by designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and preparing manuscripts and presentations. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with lab members, supporting general laboratory operations, and maintaining accurate and organized research records.
Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and be motivated to pursue a research career in cell biology, with an interest in cellular architecture, cytoskeletal organization, and molecular motors.
